Diet Plan for All the People Having Negative Blood Type

You are hanging out with your friends, and you decide to order barbequed snags. But, it turns out that your digestive system is not agreeing with the beef or pork you just had. Meanwhile, your friends are perfectly okay with the dish.  Confused? I bet you are.

Often, we are asked by our guardians not grab a bite of something that we have a hankering for. They say, ‘It does not suit our digestive system”. Well, it’s time to debunk this statement. You may be startled at first, but our diet depends on our blood type. That means, even if one craves for meat pies, he or she is forbidden to consume it, if the person is of A- blood type.

What Do We Have to Abide by Particular Diet?

As per the ‘Blood-Type’ diet theory proposed by D’Adamo, our blood type dictates what we can eat. As per his theory and the understanding of other scientists, humans of each blood type evolved to partake of a particular diet. Only if you stick to a proper dietary plan, you can reduce the chances of succumbing to diseases like cancer, diabetes, etc. Moreover, you will be able to stay fit, and your metabolism will be optimized.

In this blog, we will take a look at the diet that people with negative blood type should abide by.

AB- Blood Type

If you happen to belong to this rarest blood type, you can accept red blood cells only from the negative blood types. As you know, it is not so easy to get. Hence, you must stay cautious and pay special attention to your diet.  Although the scientific studies to support this blood type is less, scientists and the doctors state that people should eat:

  • Green Plant-based healthy foods, like fruits, vegetables, legumes and whole grains
  • Nuts and seeds (two to five times per week)
  • Olive oil (for healthy fats)
  • Organic foods (for instance, grass-fed, pastured animals, when choosing meat)
  • Eggs and fermented dairy products (three to four times a week)
  • Lean meats (lamb, mutton, seafood, turkey)

People belonging to AB negative type blood group are not built for consuming animal protein. Thus, they should stick to a plant-based diet. Moreover, these people do not digest lectins well (found in nuts and seeds). Therefore, they should eat it in a limited amount.

A- Blood Type

People with type A negative blood are best suited for a vegetarian diet, much like the people with AB negative blood group. However, A- type blood group people can consume

  • Animal proteins like chicken, turkey and lots of seafood
  • Milk & Dairy products (Yogurt, kefir, cheese, etc.)
  • Nuts and fats (peanuts, walnuts, pumpkin seeds)
  • Beans (adzuki, green, pinto beans, lentils, red soy)
  • Grains (amaranth, buckwheat)
  • Vegetables (garlic, kale, broccoli, carrots, pumpkin, spinach, etc.)
  • Fruits (plums, prunes, figs, grapefruit, pineapples, apricots, etc.)
  • Spices and condiments (tamari, soy sauce, garlic, ginger)

But, they are not healthy food:

  • Beef, pork, lamb, or other red meat
  • Seafood like crab, conch, crayfish, eel, lobster
  • Milk products like curd and cheese
  • Nuts and fats like brazil nuts, cashews, pistachios
  • Beans such as lima, kidney, tamarind
  • Vegetables and fruits such as potatoes, oranges, strawberries, mango, banana, papaya

So, if you want to stay healthy, you should follow the diet plan stated above.

B- Blood Type

It is another rare form of blood type. Only 2% of the population has this blood type, including celebrities like Paul McCartney, Leonardo DiCaprio, etc. So, what are the healthy foods to eat? As per D’Adamo, people should maintain a balance between animal and a plant-based diet. Thus, one can consume:

  • Animal protein from “beneficial meats” like lamb, goat, rabbit, mutton, venison
  • Green vegetables
  • Eggs
  • Low-fat dairy

As per the study conducted by D’Adamo, people with B blood type (both positive and negative) were nomads. Hence, they should be able to digest a variety of foods. However, they must avoid

  • Wheat
  • Buckwheat
  • Peanuts
  • Sesame seeds
  • Tomatoes
  • Corn
  • Lentils

According to research, it has been found that these food items compromise the metabolism of the people with B- type blood group. This might lead to fatigue and hypoglycemia. Chicken is also not suitable for these people as it contains ‘agglutinating’ lectin, which might result in a stroke.

So, if you are served with chicken nuggets or butter roast chicken, abstain from consuming it. It is better to remain unsated than to spend the rest of your life with health issues.

O- Blood Type

Are you aware of the fact that 7% of the world’s population has O- blood type? Thus, it is the least rare blood types among all the negative blood types. As customary with the other blood groups, people having O- negative blood type must follow a strict diet plan. Thus, they can eat

  • Animal proteins derived from beef, lamb, veal, mutton, venison, cod, mackerel
  • Dairy products like butter, cheese, soy milk
  • Nuts such as walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, pumpkin seeds
  • Beans like pinto beans, black eyed peas and adzuki beans
  • Grains such as amaranth, buckwheat, rice, kamut, millet, kasha, barley, rye
  • Vegetables like tomatoes, chicory, dandelion, garlic, kale, okra, parsley, pumpkin
  • Fruits such as plums, figs, grapefruits, berries, prunes
  • Spices and condiments like parsley, curry, cayenne pepper, cocoa, honey

But, there are certain restrictions for them as well. They are not supposed to eat:

  • Nuts like cashews, peanuts, pistachios, brazil nuts, poppy seeds
  • Beans like copper beans, kidney and tamarind beans
  • Grains like gluten, corn, graham, oat, farina, etc.
  • Vegetables like alfalfa sprouts, fermented olives, corn, leek
  • Animal proteins such as goose, catfish, smoked salmon, octopus, conch
  • Fruits such as avocado, tangerines, melons, oranges, strawberries

So, delicacies like sweet corn or crispy corn might be a coveted item for a lot of people with O- blood group.

Although, research is still underway to shed light on the blood type based diet, one should follow a strict diet plan based on the pointers stated above.
