Cotswold Wedding Venues

Cotswold Wedding Venues

Choosing the right venue for your wedding, is perhaps one of the more difficult decisions to be made when planning a wedding, unlike the stag activities, which can be left to someone else!  Selecting a venue that is suitable, fits with your theme and comes in on budget can seem like a daunting task, but you need to start somewhere, so why not the Cotswolds?

It is hard not to find a beautiful place in the Cotswolds, as the whole area, some 800 square miles, is home to some of the most quaint and wonderful places in the UK.

Covering the 5 Counties of Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Wiltshire & Worcestershire, it’s location in the UK makes it a great central place to commute to
particularly if guests are coming from different parts of the country.

Famous for its sand coloured buildings and rolling hills ‘wolds’ it shouldn’t come as any surprise that the area boasts some of the greatest palaces, castles and fine country houses, many of which are now available and licensed as wedding venues.

What may surprise you, is that the Cotswolds also offers a great selection of more unusual bespoke wedding venues, including Barns, Rococo Gardens, Mills, Canvas and Tipis options.

Whatever you envisaged your wedding venue to look like, with such a huge selection on offer your sure to find something that matches your vision or even better exceeds what you thought possible.

Once you know roughly how many guests are attending and the budget has been set, you can then start the all-important venue search, which can begin on the desktop

and include reviewing articles such as this one, which can play a key part in gathering information and providing options.

Below I have listed a small variety of venues available for hire in the Cotswolds, to help give you a flavour for the diverse places, in which you can now tie the knot.

Berkeley Castle

This exclusive venue could be yours for the weekend, situated on the edge of the Cotswolds this breath taking Medieval fortress is one of the most splendid venues in the country.

With two houses on offer within the estate, in addition to the castle, spending quality time with loved ones before and after the wedding is easily possible, so no need to rush or cut short your amazing wedding experience.

Berkeley Castle has been home to the Berkeley Family for over 850 years, so that personal touch is never far away, with unique grounds to stroll and rooms steeped in history, your guests will remain totally captivated for the duration of their stay.

Cotswolds Under Canvas

This unique festival style Tipi setting is every bit as exclusive as any Manor House on offer, with the venue only accepting 6 – 8 weddings per year, each event is super special.

This laid back setting is all about providing a chilled out vibe, with access to the venue starting Thursday afternoon, running through to Sunday where you can all gather for breakfast.

This informal setting provides plenty of space, surrounded by wildflower meadows and cherry blossom tree circles, a beautiful backdrop full of colour, a perfect place for a ceremony.

If you’re looking for that something a little different this could be it, as well as catering for all the standard wedding venue needs, this venue is happy to go above and beyond, hiring in extra things if need be, to ensure your day is just what you wanted.

Egypt Mills

This 16th Century Grade ll listed Mill located in the market town of Nailsworth, is a real stand out from the crowd venue, with its stunning waterside garden.

The Mills striking setting would provide the perfect romantic backdrop for any photo shoot, looking like a scene straight out of a love movie.

Every part of the Mill has something to offer you and your guests to be captivated with, the water wheel, high beams, beautiful stone and winding paths.

Use this unique space to customise your wedding and organise a day to suit you, indoors, outdoors, live music, disco, hog roast, high tea, or a mixture of it all.

This venue needs to be seen to be appreciated for its potential.

Kingcote Barn

Hidden away in its own secret valley, this beautifully restored 17th Century Cotswold Stone Barn, has been sympathetically modernised with underfloor heating, glass walls, controllable lights, all there ready for you to decorate with your choice of colour and decor.

A south facing paved terrace overlooking the valley provides the perfect backdrop for you and your guests to enjoy the celebration, home to a walled courtyard, rose garden and surrounded by wild flowers and natural woods, there is no shortage of magical places to be.

With accommodation for up to 50 guests and a complimentary ‘Treehouse’ honeymoon suite this certainly has a lot to offer.  There are many, many more amazing venues throughout the Cotswolds, the four I chose was simply to give you a flavour of the different types of settings and to get your imagination running wild, good luck and I hope you find the perfect place.
